FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?

For a list of our core beliefs, please see our Statement of Faith.

WHERE AND WHEN DO YOU MEET?

We meet one day per week (Wednesday) for 26 weeks during the school year at The Chapel in Marlboro, Louisville, OH (5 miles east of Hartville). Classes typically start in Sept and conclude in April. There is a winter break between first and second semesters. Co-op starts at 9:00am and ends at 2:50pm.

IS CLASS ENROLLMENT GUARANTEED?

Class participation is on a first-come basis and limited to the maximum number of students set for each class. Current co-op members have first chance at registration.

CAN I DROP MY CHILD OFF?

At least one parent from each family must accompany their child to co-op each week. It is not a drop-of program.

WHAT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY AS A PARENT?

Each parent's participation in classroom service is vital for a successful co-op year. Parents are required to serve each week in various capacities, including as teachers (current members), teacher assistants and substitutes. Parent assignments are on a first come basis.

HOW LARGE ARE THE CLASSES?

Most classrooms hold 12-14 students. Larger areas such as the gym can accommodate more.

IS MEMBERSHIP GUARANTEED IF I CREATE AN ACCOUNT?

Membership is on a first-come basis. When you create an account, you are put on the waitlist in the order you signed up. We will contact you if there is an opening.

WHEN IS CLASS REGISTRATION?

Class registration usually opens in May. To receive notices of registration dates for the 2025-2026 school year, please create an account on our site by clicking Join above.

CAN I JOIN IF MY OLDEST CHILD IS 3 OR 4 YEARS OLD?

New member families, starting the 2025-2026 school year, must have at least one child kindergarten age or older.

MY CHILD HAS SEPARATION ANXIETY, CAN I BE IN ALL OF THEIR CLASSES?

We sympathize with your situation, as many of us have gone through this. Unfortunately, we can not guarantee that you can be in their classes. All parents are required to serve in classrooms but parent assignments are on a first come basis. Current GiG members have first chance at registration.

WHAT CLASSES ARE OFFERED?

We usually offer core classes such as Phys Ed, drama, choir, and art, plus numerous other parent-led classes. See the class list for 2025-26.

WE TAKE MANY TRIPS THROUGH OUT THE YEAR, IS THIS CO-OP A GOOD FIT FOR ME?

Classroom structure relies heavily on parent service.
If you have more than 2 absences planned in any given semester, GiG may not be for you.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Each family pays a $120 yearly membership fee to the co-op, plus individual class supply fees (usually $10-$35 per class) to the teachers. First time members also pay a $15 background check fee.
